Pet Peeve: Personality, it doesn't mean what you think it means...

A small pet peeve of mine that drives me bonkers: "They have no personality."

Look. Personality is what makes a person who they are. Their traits and qualities and mannerisms and such make up a personality. So when you say that someone "has no personality," you are wrong.

They have a personality it's just not a good one. They may be boring and that makes you think they have no personality, but no. Their personality just so happens to be a boring one. That is their personality. Do you get it? Boring Personality. Let's use it in a sentence:

"Your boyfriend's personality is so boring. Just an FYI. U mad?"

That is the correct usage of the word personality. Everyone has a personality but that doesn't mean it's always a good one, do you see?
