IG Outings: Carnival Foods

The time is finally upon us when I, your devoted blogger, am going to Carnival Foods! Huzzzah!

It will be my first food blog that didn't happen at home and the first appearance of guest blogger, Sherrie! What's. Up? How j are you right now? We are going this Saturday and I am taking notes, pictures and an appetite for really gross stuff.

Wearing this dress today, not a current pic

I have been doing well in avoiding fried foods (except falafel, it doesn't count!) for a while now and I couldn't tell you the last time I ate fast food so I am going to splurge (bigtime) on something I really, really like and that would be funnel cake. Taahh Daahhh. It's supposed the "best funnel cake in Memphis" but how many funnel cakes are in Memphis right now? It can't be that many. Come on, now.

And I also love caramel apples and I will be getting one of those and possibly a candy apple and I know I am taking home a bag or two of cotton candy.* Yes, that sounds crazy but I am going to stretch the consumption out a little and I will of course share!

So anyway, I am pretty excited about it, as is Sherrie. It's our first time! Carnival Foods for Life (a somewhat shortened, high cholesterol addled one)!

Also, IG Outings (PLEASE someone rename this) is something new I am trying out. I will be going to places that I like and blogging about them. All local places. No chains. If anyone has any suggestions or if they would like me to tag along to one of their favorite places (no exclusively meat places. If they have one veggie dish, I am in!), feel free to let me know: hello.stacey@gmail.com

*True Story: Garrett loves cotton candy and whenever I see a bag, I get one and we split it. But he can only eat it when I am around. We went through half a bag one weekend and we had half the bag left on Monday. I went to work Monday and he stayed home for some reason and I came home and the cotton candy was gone. He had eaten half the bag while I was at work. I didn't know whether to be pissed or really kinda proud, you know? Since then they know they can have any candy in my room as long as they ask first. Garrett just asked me if he could have my last Cadbury Creme Egg and I said "Um, no." And then I put that bitch in the freezer (not Garrett, the egg).

Oh! Geez, that was a bad one. It was a typo. I swear I am not retarded. And I make like 40 mistakes per blog post. I am surprised I am not called out more often.

Bahaha bravo Morgan, bravo.

I am thrilled. Cannot wait. I'm going to get 5 funnel cakes. Ok probably not. But I am going to get one, and I'm going to eat every morsel, and I hope they serve it on one of those flimsy paper plates, like the cheap kind at Target, so that I can fold it in half to funnel (pun!) the powdered sugar into my esophagus, completely bypassing my mouth. That's obesity at it's finest, folks.

I also might get a corndog, because it's been forever since I've had one and you can't get one just anywhere. I mean, you can buy some at the store, but who buys that junk? Not me. But I love them. Especially the mini ones. Believe it or not, I'm not going to get the Adult Footlong (who woulda thunk it?!) but I will instead get the kids corndog. God I love cornbread, and when you put processed meat into it, well... I lose control.

If I have room leftover (I will), I want an elephant ear and a snow cone.

Oh shit, a snow cone! I didn't even THINK about snow cones. I get the feeling I am going to be real overwhelmed when we walk up in that bitch.

Sherrie Miller said...

Whatever! They'll be overwhelmed by us and our fantasticalness, which is a word by the way.

And, you know what? We have nearly the exact same color hair in that picture, but in the one(s) we take on Saturday, we'll both have pretty red hair... I think this is neato.
